So for Christmas my wonderful husband surprised me with a 135mm lens. I admit it, I cried. And then wanted to immediately go outside and play with it. Alas, that couldn’t happen because it was Christmas day and I had 10 family members coming over to celebrate. So I put the lens down and my apron on. Pure. Torture. 😉

However, the day AFTER Christmas was fair game! So what did I do? I brought my husband and the kids out for a quick “mommy-wants-to-play-with-her-new-toy-so-suck-it-up-and-smile” session. And boy does this lens make me drool. It is just beautiful, sharp, and has the perfect amount of bokeh. I can’t wait to use it on my next outdoor session.

About a month ago I had the pleasure of photographing baby Tiffany when she was only 9 days old.  Her mom and I used to work together many years ago, so I also had the pleasure of catching up with an old friend during this session which was also very fun.  Tiffany was such a tiny little princess. And also a not-very-sleepy little princess!  She made me work for her session, but I still managed to get nice shots.  Such a little sweetheart!  Newborns are always so much fun!

Meet Georgia, a gorgeous little girl with ginormous eyes and eyelashes to die for. What a little doll! She was so much fun to work with and had such a great personality. Her smile is infectious!

This was a super fun session -once you got passed how COLD it was! Having a family session at a Christmas tree farm was a lot of fun and so very festive. The view was beautiful and seeing all the trees really puts you in a holiday mood. I have been trying to hook up with this family for months so it was great to finally meet up for a session!

This family is very close to my heart since not only are they our best friends, but the youngest daughter also happens to be our god daughter. Since they moved to Maryland we don’t get to see each other as much as we’d like, but what better to do when we meet up than have a quick family session? It’s starting to get colder out now that winter is here, but in between pictures we wrapped the kids in blankets. It was crazy, but also lots of fun. We even took some pictures of the girls in front of my Christmas tree, which is funny because it can almost pass as a prop. 🙂

Nothing is more fun than meeting a new family! I was so lucky with this session because the location was just stunning. Even though fall had started inching it’s way towards winters door, we braved the chilly weather and had a great shoot. Lots of colors still came through and this beautiful and photogenic family made my job easy!

The light was so pretty I had to play with some flare. 🙂
