Meet sweet little Musa. He was 8 days old when I met him for his newborn session. He was such a sweet little guy and was very tolerant of meeting me and having his picture taken. In fact, he was probably the most alert 8 day old I have ever met! He was awake for half our session, but not only was he awake, but he was focusing his big beautiful eyes on me and the camera! We all know with newborns they can only see what’s right in front of them clearly, so the fact that I was standing far above him and snapping away while he focused on me was pretty cool.
I also loved incorporating some lifestyle images in (and of) his nursery. And what a cool nursery it was! Dad painted those blue zig-zag stripes himself.

Personal blog time! Since it seems like this winter will never end, we are trying to come up with other fun things to do while we’re cooped up inside. Something that is a treat to my daughter is taking a bath in mommy’s “humungous” bathtub. She’ll spend an hour in there playing with her toys. On this day it worked out perfectly for me because I was able to watch her from my bed while editing images from a session. Win-win! But of course, after a while, I had to grab my camera and take pictures of her. Sometimes it’s just impossible not to document things. 🙂 I love lifestyle pictures and I really don’t take enough of my family in this style. I also love that I captured my daughters most recent obsession; dinosaurs. From princesses and sparkly dresses, to dinosaurs eating each other, my little girls interests are all over the place.
My original thought for these lifestyle images were warm black and whites, but when I saw how pretty the soft light coming through the window was I had to leave them in color.

Really lucked out this day! The snow was a steady fall and made for a great session! We went to one of my favorite locations in Easton PA and everything combined made for a perfect backdrop. I’ve been looking to get some “tween” girls in my portfolio, and I’ve had my eye on Lexi since last year when her younger brother played baseball with my son. Finally got my hands on her, and was lucky enough that there was (shock!) some snow falling that day. I love this age. Still young, but with hints of growing up. Lexi was a natural in front of the camera and we had a super fun mini session. She was even brave enough to take her jacket off (while wearing short sleeves!) for a couple quick captures. Those, of course, are my favorite from this session. Mom and younger brother jumped in for a few family portraits too. 🙂
How gorgeous is this girl?

So I decided to offer First Communion Mini’s! It’s a great deal and a great way to capture nice images of this special day. Contact me for more info or to book your session today!

So I wanted to share my current packaging! I’ve always appreciated gifts with nice packaging (and I’m not talking about toy packaging -I hate nothing more than that!), so I’ve tried to make my portrait packaging something that *I* would like to receive. Besides, you’ve made the investment with a portrait photographer and prints, it should be presented nicely, no? 😉
Of course, my packaging tends to change as I get new ideas, but this is a general idea for it. I’m currently waiting on my new business cards and stickers from Moo.com (boy could I go broke on that site!), so once I get those this will change AGAIN. But hey.
Packaging is fun! It’s fluid and can change with every whim I have (which, if you know me, can be a lot). It’s not extravagant, but it’s still pretty.
Make sure to check my website www.teresagphotography.com for booking and pricing information!

Since we just can’t stop getting winter weather up here in the Lehigh Valley I’ve been doing everything I can to make the best of it. My kids are over going outside to model for me so I decided to use objects that wouldn’t give me as much back-talk as my darling children. After about 5mins of trying to get pictures of snowflakes I almost preferred the fighting 4yr old and 7yr old. Since I don’t own a proper macro lens (may consider it now though), I pulled out my macro tube extenders. These serve the purpose I have when it comes to macro photography (which is to say, not that much), but they are definitely not the correct medium to use for say, snowflakes. But I didn’t give up. I think my husband was thoroughly enjoying himself watching me mutter and keep trying all day.
Seriously.
All day.
But eventually I did get acceptable images. Not great, but acceptable. And still pretty cool when you think about how TINY these little guys are. 🙂
Two days later we had a nice ice storm which officially made roads an ice skating rink. I went out to take some cool macros of the ice.

Meet newborn Francesco!
I am always so grateful when families call me to do a newborn session.
This little guy was only 8 days old when I photographed him. What a little rock star! He slept through most of our session and posed perfectly for me. I even got him in the froggy pose! He made my job as a photographer easy for his session. At the end he even opened his big beautiful eyes and gave me some personality. Of course, that personality meant “I’m done” but that’s ok! After how wonderfully he slept for most of the session, no one was mad when he decided he was done.
I even convinced mom and dad to get in a couple pictures. I always find it very important to capture the new parents with their newborn at that moment in time. You’ll never get it back and they grow so quickly. And hey, I’m already there anyway right? 🙂

As a photographer, I think Valentine’s Day pictures are super fun to plan! However, my 7.5yr old son rarely wants to be involved because, although he likes the candy and treats part of Valentine’s Day, he tends to think it can be “girly” (ah, boys). So after pleading with him and a mini fit about not wanting a “pink” background {gasp!} I rethought my idea and convinced him to come outside with me for this…
I’m so glad I convinced him because that’s one of my favorite Valentine’s Day pictures I’ve taken! He thinks it’s pretty neat too, even though all I got from him was a unimpressed “cool” response.
Hey, I’ll take it. 🙂
My daughter was much easier to convince. In fact, she still asks me daily if we can go outside and do it again.
And since it’s Valentine’s day, I’ll share what my daughter wanted as her Valentines. She (along with most other little girls -and moms!) is completely obsessed with Frozen. I was not able to find Frozen Valentine’s in the store, so we made our own. She is SO HAPPY with how they turned out.

How lucky am I? Here’s another little lady I had the privilege of photographing as a newborn, and now we’re celebrating her one year birthday! I love when things come full circle. Karlie’s mom brought a sweet birthday dress and an adorable birthday hat that we incorporated in her session. We also got a super sweet image of mom and baby girl which I think it’s just gorgeous. By the time we got to the cake Karlie wasn’t sure what she thought of it. She was interested, and ate a little, but then she was over it! She may not have enjoyed eating the cake, but she sure enjoyed making a mess! 😉

We’ve been getting slammed in the North East this winter! Usually we get a couple snow storms and we’re done. This year it seems as soon as the snow melts we get more! I’m over winter.
But, following the adage of ‘when life hands you lemons’ I decided to go out and make some lemonade. Portraits in the snow are really, really beautiful so it IS good for something. I took some of my favorite pics of my kids so far. And then, just to change things up, I dragged out my neighbors kids for some pics as well (how beautiful are these girls? Aren’t I lucky to get to photograph them whenever I want?).
And, because these are kids after all, you can’t NOT have a snowball fight right?
